Things are not looking good for Tottenham on the injury front with the latest Tottenham injury news indicating several players could be missing in action against Dortmund this midweek.
Tottenham Hotspur’s UEFA Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night could be manager Thomas Frank’s last, with growing uncertainty surrounding his future at the club.
The Danish coach is under increasing pressure in north London following Saturday’s devastating home defeat to West Ham United. That result has triggered internal discussions at Tottenham Hotspur regarding Frank’s position as head coach, with patience wearing thin amid inconsistent form.
Spurs currently sit 14th in the Premier League standings, five points off the top half and already some distance from the European qualification places. While league performances have faltered, Tottenham’s Champions League form has been decent and a positive result against Borussia Dortmund would likely see Spurs progress to the play-off round.
However, Frank’s task has been complicated by a mounting injury crisis. Tottenham could be without as many as 14 first-team players for the Dortmund encounter. New signing Conor Gallagher would miss out because he hasn’t been added to the UCL squad, and defender Micky van de Ven will miss out to suspension.
There are also some injury concerns for the team, with Ben Davies expected to undergo surgery after fracturing his left ankle against West Ham, while Archie Gray is a doubt but could feature after returning to training on Monday, having been withdrawn at the weekend with a knock.
According to reports, Xavi Simons has confirmed he will play through the pain after sustaining a minor injury, determined to help Spurs in what could be a pivotal night for both club and coach.
