Tottenham Hotspur injury news – Updates on Solanke, Palhinha, Maddison and Others ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Tottenham Hotspur interim head coach Igor Tudor has provided an update on his squad ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest.

Spurs head into the game in good spirits after picking up their first win under Tudor with a 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie last Wednesday, even though they were unable to overturn the deficit from the first leg.

The North London club have been plagued by injury problems this season, but they have been handed several boosts ahead of the weekend.

Dominic Solanke, who missed the midweek win over Atletico due to a hip issue, is expected to return to training on Saturday, which puts him in contention for Sunday’s match.

There is also a likely return for Joao Palhinha, who has been sidelined after suffering a concussion.

The Portuguese midfielder was forced off following a clash of heads with Cristian Romero during the first leg defeat against Atletico and has missed their last two games, but is now set to be available again.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Tudor confirmed the news in quotes revealed by BBC Sport.

“Dom didn’t train [today], but probably tomorrow he will train with the team, and I think he will be available. He had a hip problem, but I think he will be OK.”

Elsewhere, Spurs have also been handed a big boost with James Maddison expected to make his comeback before the end of the season after a long spell out with an ACL injury.

“Yeah, Maddison is already doing some interesting things with the ball and sprinting, he is positive”, Tudor added.

There is more good news, as both Mohammed Kudus and Rodrigo Bentancur, who have been sidelined since January, are expected to return to action next month.

Tottenham have lost their last three meetings against Forest and will be desperate to turn things around.

With both sides struggling in the league, Spurs will see this as a perfect opportunity to end that run and move away from the relegation zone.
