Tottenham Hotspur interim head coach Igor Tudor has shared the latest injury updates ahead of the club’s must-win Premier League clash against Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield.

Spurs head into the encounter still searching for their first league win of 2026. Their struggles were compounded in midweek after they suffered a heavy 5-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie, marking their sixth consecutive defeat and a fourth since the arrival of Tudor in February.

Injuries throughout the campaign have plagued the Europa League champions, and their situation has worsened ahead of the trip to Liverpool, with as many as 13 first-team players likely to be unavailable due to injuries and suspension.

Tottenham are already without several key players through injury, including Wilson Odobert, James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski, Mohammed Kudus, Ben Davies, Lucas Bergvall, Destiny Udogie and Yves Bissouma, leaving the squad severely depleted ahead of a tough trip to Anfield.

Captain Cristian Romero and midfielder Joao Palhinha are the latest names to join the list of absentees as they will be unavailable due to concussion protocols.

Both players suffered a clash of heads during the defeat to Atletico and were forced off in stoppage time, leaving Spurs to finish the match with nine men and will now miss the game against Liverpool.

Netherlands international Micky van de Ven will also be unavailable due to suspension, after receiving a red card during Tottenham’s 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace earlier this month.

There is also uncertainty surrounding the availability of Conor Gallagher, who has been battling illness this week.

The England international joined Tottenham from Atletico Madrid during the winter transfer window and featured against his former side in midweek, but he has since missed training with a fever.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference on Friday, Tudor lamented the several absentees in quotes revealed by the official Tottenham Hotspur website.

“No, they are out”, Tudor said.

“Micky is also out. (Yves) Bissouma is out with problems with the muscles, and Conor (Gallagher) has some fever, but probably he will be in. So we have again, a lot of problems to make the first 11.”

With their squad stretched and confidence low, Tottenham face a daunting challenge against Liverpool. Another defeat could push them closer to the relegation zone and potentially bring an early end to Tudor’s spell in charge.
