“This Is the Stadium You Dream of” — Ndiaye fuels Man United transfer

Illiman Ndiaye

Illiman Ndiaye has reignited Manchester United transfer rumours after naming Old Trafford as his favourite stadium to play in, a comment that has quickly set tongues wagging and pens scribbling ahead of the summer window.

When asked which stadium he enjoyed playing in the most, the Senegalese international singled out Old Trafford, saying:

“The atmosphere. The size. When we were growing up, this was the stadium you want to play in” Ndiaye said.

Those words have absolutely not gone unnoticed, with the 23-year-old already being linked with a possible move to Old Trafford as United prepare for a major squad refresh at the end of the season.

Ndiaye has been mentioned previously in transfer discussion, with United reportedly keen on reinforcing their wide options.

Marcus Rashford has indicated a desire to join Barcelona on a permanent deal at the end of the season,  which would mean limited attacking options on the flanks for the Red Devils, with only Bryan Mbeumo and Amad currently available.

Other squad players, including Patrick Dorgu and Matheus Cunha, offer occasional cover on the wing but are primarily played in alternative positions.

Hence, United are understood to be on the lookout for signings to strengthen their flank.

While Ndiaye is among the options under consideration, RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande is reportedly the top target, with alternatives such as Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic in the mix.

Final decisions on summer signing will reportedly depend on whether United secure Champions League football next season.

Ndiaye’s comments, waxing lyrical about the allure of Old Trafford, will certainly keep him in the conversation as United plan their summer business.
