Real Madrid are weighing up a summer move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro as they plan for life after Dani Carvajal.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Los Blancos are keen to strengthen their defensive options at right-back, with doubts lingering over Carvajal’s long-term future at the Santiago Bernabéu. As a result, Porro has emerged as a serious candidate ahead of the next transfer window.
The 26-year-old Spain international has developed into one of the Premier League’s most consistent full-backs since joining Spurs from Sporting CP. Initially signed on loan, Tottenham made the deal permanent in 2023 for a reported €45 million, and Porro has since justified that investment.
Over the past three seasons, he has become a key figure in North London, making close to 150 appearances while contributing 11 goals and 25 assists, which are impressive numbers for a defender. His attacking output has attracted interest from several European heavyweights, including Bayern Munich.
Real Madrid’s interest, however, appears to be long-standing. With Carvajal struggling with recurring fitness issues and falling down the pecking order in recent matches, the Spanish giants are considering their options.
Although Madrid secured the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold last summer, the club may seek additional depth if Carvajal departs or sees his role further reduced.
Porro is not the only name under consideration. The report also links Madrid with AS Roma’s Wesley Franca and Bayern Munich’s Konrad Laimer as alternative right-back options.
It remains to be seen whether Porro will make a return to Spain, but his profile and experience make him a strong contender should Madrid decide to refresh their defensive ranks this summer.
