RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff has revealed that the club would be willing to listen to offers for explosive midfielder Yan Diomande in the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old joined RB Leipzig from Spanish Laliga club CD Leganes in a deal worth €20 million last summer, and he quickly established himself as one of the top youngsters in Europe.
The Ivory Coast international has blistering pace and is one of the most fleet-footed players in Germany. He is very lethal in 1v1 situations and knows how to curl one in from the left wing.
Diomande doesn’t just pass the eye test. He also has good numbers. Since his move to RB Leipzig, he has contributed seven goals and four assists in 18 appearances across all competitions.
His brilliance has attracted most of the top clubs across Europe. He has been linked with teams like Chelsea, Bayern Munich, PSG, Manchester City, Liverpool, and several other big clubs.
Some of them have even inquired about him during the course of this January transfer window. However, Die Roten Bullen have been adamant to listen to any offer.
But after their 5-1 spanking at home to Bayern Munich on Saturday, club chief Mintzlaff admitted they could listen to offers in the summer because they need to raise money to keep the club running well.
This will be good news for all the clubs interested in Diomande because they will be readying bids ahead of the summer.
However, prying him away from RB Leipzig will not be an easy task. The Ivorian is valued at €45 million on Transfermarkt, but his German employers will likely hike his price due to the number of clubs interested in him.
Eyes will be on Diomande to see how he ends the campaign at RB Leipzig. But with Mintzlaff’s recent comments, it is highly likely that the youngster will leave soon.
