AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are closely monitoring Marcus Rashford’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window, with both clubs prepared to swoop in for the England star if Barcelona opt against a permanent deal.

Rashford is currently on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season and is entering a decisive phase of his spell in Spain.

The Spanish giants retain a buy option clause believed to be in the region of €30 million, and discussions over a potential long-term stay have already progressed, with personal terms reportedly not expected to be an obstacle.

For his part, Rashford is understood to be satisfied with life at the Spotify Camp Nou, and will love to continue his career under the tutelage of Hansi Flick; however, the situation appears to be facing certain complications that will need resolving ahead of the summer transfer window.

Barcelona’s ongoing financial struggles, particularly surrounding La Liga’s regulatory framework, could still prevent them from being able to sign the England international permanently, and this situation has alerted both Milan and PSG, who are widely known to be long-term admirers of Rashford’s skillset.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the two clubs see Rashford as a player who can add significant value to their respective squads next season, and will be prepared to make a formal offer to Manchester United if Barcelona end up being unable to get a deal over the line.

Rashford has contributed ten goals and 11 assists in 39 appearances and is now expected to take on a more prominent role within the Barcelona setup after Raphinha recently suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty with Brazil.

At the moment, Barcelona remain in pole position to land the Carrington product on a permanent deal this summer.

But should their financial situation complicate matters, two of Europe’s biggest clubs will be waiting in line to poach the 28-year-old winger’s signature.
