Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly weighing up a surprise move for Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli ahead of the summer transfer window.

The French giants are looking to reshape their squad, with several potential departures expected to create room for new additions.

Portuguese forward Goncalo Ramos is likely to move on in search of regular playing time, while Bradley Barcola is also attracting interest from other top European clubs, and their potential exits would leave gaps in the club’s attack.

As a result, PSG are expected to target a new forward to strengthen their attack, as they aim to maintain their dominance in Ligue 1 and also build on their recent success in Europe.

Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez has been identified as their top target, but competition from Barcelona and Arsenal, as well as Atletico’s reluctance to sell, could complicate any potential deal.

If a move for Alvarez proves too difficult, PSG are expected to turn their attention to Martinelli as an alternative, according to recent reports from TeamTalk.

The Brazilian winger joined Arsenal from Ituano in 2019 and has established himself as an important figure, playing a key role in the club’s FA Cup triumph in his debut season. He has made 267 appearances across all competitions, scoring 62 goals.

The 24-year-old is likely to leave the Gunners with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season. Even though Arsenal hold an option to extend for an additional year, it could open the door for PSG to test their resolve.

Martinelli would also be open to a fresh challenge after seven years in England, and his versatility across the front line would make him an ideal option for PSG.

However, any serious move is likely to depend on whether the French club misses out on their primary target in the transfer window.
