Newcastle United are considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke when the summer transfer window opens, according to Talksport.
The England striker could be on his way out of North London if Tottenham Hotspur fail to avoid relegation.
They currently occupy the 16th position on the Premier League standings and are just one point above the drop zone, creating uncertainty about the future of several key players.
Solanke joined Spurs from Bournemouth in 2024 and has become an important player for the club whenever he is fit.
While several injury worries have limited his impact, he has still managed five goals across all competitions this season.
Newcastle United are expected to strengthen their attack ahead of next season and have identified the 28-year-old as their top target in that position.
The Magpies have been looking for a reliable striker since the departure of Alexander Isak, who joined Liverpool in a British-record £125 million deal last summer.
Nick Woltemade, who arrived from German club Stuttgart for a club-record fee last summer, started brightly but has struggled for consistency, and his goal output has dropped.
Meanwhile, Yoane Wissa, who also joined from Brentford, has endured an injury-disrupted debut campaign and has found it difficult to make a major impact.
Head coach Eddie Howe knows Solanke well from their time together at Bournemouth and is believed to be keen on working with him again, with the club ready to spend big to sign the striker.
Tottenham would ideally prefer to keep Solanke, but relegation could force them to sell some key players. If that happens, Newcastle may see it as the perfect opportunity to land a proven Premier League forward with plenty of experience.
