Newcastle United revive pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain forward Goncalo Ramos

Newcastle United are set to revive their interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Goncalo Ramos ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Magpies invested heavily in their attack last summer but are still searching for a reliable replacement for Alexander Isak, who joined Liverpool in a British-record £125 million move on deadline day and have struggled to find consistency in front of goal.

Nick Woltemade, who joined in a club-record £69 million deal from German club Stuttgart, showed flashes of promise early on but has suffered a dip in form and is yet to score a Premier League goal in 2026.

At the same time, Yoane Wissa, who also arrived from Brentford on summer transfer deadline day, has been hampered by injuries in his debut campaign and has managed just three goals across all competitions this season.

As a result, Newcastle are expected to return to the market in search of a quality attacking option, as they look to strengthen their squad to challenge for trophies next season.

According to reports from TeamTalk, Ramos has emerged as a key target, with the striker likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Portuguese forward initially joined the French giants on loan in 2023 from Benfica, but has struggled to cement a regular starting role since his arrival and has made a large number of his appearances off the bench.

So far this season, the 24-year-old has featured 34 times across all competitions, scoring 11 goals, but only 12 of those outings have come as a starter.

Premier League giants Chelsea are also keeping a close eye on the situation as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season.

Despite having limited opportunities, Ramos has shown enough quality to suggest he could perform better with regular game time.

A move to Newcastle could offer him that opportunity, while also providing the Magpies with a proven goalscorer as they aim to compete for major honours next season.
