Newcastle United are exploring their winger options ahead of the summer transfer window, with reports linking the Magpies to Israeli youngster Anan Khalaili.
According to journalist Craig Hope, Newcastle’s recruitment team have been impressed by the Union Saint‑Gilloise attacker following his performances in European competition this season, where he has scored three goals in the Champions League.
Newcastle previously monitored the 21-year-old up close in October, when he featured for Union Saint-Gilloise during their heavy defeat to the Magpies in Belgium.
His display reinforced growing belief inside the club that he could be a smart addition on the right flank.
Club scouts reportedly view Khalaili as a young, cost-effective option capable of providing competition for Anthony Elanga.
He is also seen as a potential long-term successor to Jacob Murphy should Newcastle look to refresh their attacking depth in the coming seasons.
While the financial outlay is unlikely to be excessive compared to deals from Europe’s top leagues, negotiations may not be straightforward.
Union Saint-Gilloise’s ownership links to Brighton & Hove Albion — through owner Tony Bloom — could complicate matters, with Brighton potentially holding an advantage if they decide to pursue the winger themselves.
Newcastle were also recently linked with Abde Ezzalzouli, but interest in Khalaili appears more concrete as the club evaluates younger profiles to strengthen their wide options.
With the summer window approaching, Khalaili is emerging as a name to watch — particularly if Newcastle prioritise youth, value, and long-term squad planning in their recruitment strategy.
