Manchester United are plotting a potential move for Nico Paz ahead of the summer transfer window, despite Real Madrid’s plans to bring the 21-year-old back to Spain, according to reports from The People’s Person.
Paz has seen his stocks steadily increase since joining Como from Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 and establishing himself as one of the most impressive attacking midfielders in Serie A under the guidance of Cesc Fabregas.
The young Argentine, who produced 15 goal contributions in his debut campaign, is following that up with an even better output rate this term.
He has registered nine goals and six assists so far this campaign, already matching last season’s numbers with a third of the term still to play.
Man United see Paz as a long-term creative option, especially with uncertainty currently surrounding Bruno Fernandes’ long-term future at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese midfielder continues to attract strong interest from elsewhere, and there’s currently no guarantee that he will stay beyond the summer.
However, Real Madrid are expected to complicate any potential deal. The Spanish giants inserted a buy-back clause worth around €10 million when Paz left for Como and are reportedly planning to activate it this summer.
In a further twist, the 36-time La Liga champions are reportedly not looking to reintegrate the young midfielder into their squad but instead move him on for a significant profit.
Reports claim that Los Blancos would demand around €80 million for Paz, with strong interest coming from the Premier League already.
Chelsea are also keeping close tabs on the situation, setting up a potential transfer battle for one of Europe’s most highly-rated young midfielders ahead of the summer window.
