Manchester United have added Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos to their shortlist of potential midfield additions ahead of the summer transfer window, as they prepare for the departure of Casemiro.
The Brazilian midfielder, who joined the club from Real Madrid in 2022, is expected to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season, with no plans to activate the option for an additional year.
The Red Devils are already planning for life after him and have identified a list of targets that would bolster their midfield ahead of next season.
One of their primary targets had been Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliott Anderson, who has been very impressive this season.
However, Manchester United are likely to miss out on the England international, who is leaning towards a move to Manchester City.
According to TeamTalk, Manchester United have now added Santos to their list of targets, which also includes Adam Wharton, Sandro Tonali, Carlos Baleba and Ibrahim Sangare, as we earlier reported.
The Brazilian joined the Blues in 2023 but has spent time on loan away from the club after arriving, and has only started to feature more for them this season.
The 21-year-old impressed in one of his loan spells at Strasbourg last season and has already played 22 matches for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, starting 10 of them.
A switch to Manchester United would allow Santos to play more regularly and continue his development, while a deal should not prove difficult to finalise between both clubs, given their good relationship in recent years.
