Liverpool have identified Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise as their ideal long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, but a summer move appears highly unlikely, as per Team Talk.
With Salah increasingly expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season, the Reds have begun preparing for life without their talisman.
The Egyptian forward has 15 months left on his contract, and this summer could represent Liverpool’s final opportunity to secure a significant transfer fee, especially with Saudi Pro League clubs still keen on signing the 33-year-old.
Liverpool’s recruitment team view Olise as the closest profile to a natural Salah successor. The French winger’s creativity, output and tactical intelligence have made him a standout candidate as the club plans its next attacking cycle under Arne Slot.
Since joining the Bundesliga giants in 2024, the former Crystal Palace star has flourished, registering an astonishing 21 goals and 39 assists.
His rapid rise has elevated him into Europe’s elite bracket, and Bayern are determined to keep him at the Allianz Arena.
Despite being under contract until 2029, Bayern are understood to be preparing fresh talks to further secure his long-term future.
Sources close to Olise suggest he is settled in Germany and has no immediate desire to return to the Premier League.
Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal are also long-term admirers, but a return to England is not currently on the winger’s agenda.
Reports indicate he would prefer a move to Spain in the future, with Real Madrid and Barcelona monitoring his development.
With Olise seemingly out of reach, Liverpool may now turn to alternative targets as they brace for a potential post-Salah era.
