RC Lens have finalised the signing of Montenegrin midfielder Andrija Bulatović, with the teenager set to remain at Budućnost on loan until the end of the season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is confirmed, and the player is set to sign a contract running until June 2030, securing his future with Lens on improved terms.

The deal, believed to be worth around €2 million,  sees the 18-year-old make the move to Ligue 1 after attracting interest from elsewhere in Europe.

Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb were among the clubs tracking his situation,  but Lens won the race for his signature.

Bulatović has been on an upward curve over the past year, establishing himself as a central part of Budućnost’s midfield despite his age.

Comfortable in central areas and composed in possession,  he has already earned three appearances for Montenegro’s Under-21 side,  a testament to how highly regarded he is back home.

Lens have opted to leave him in familiar surroundings for now, allowing him to continue his development before linking up fully with the French side.

The agreement between the clubs includes giving Bulatović the chance to finish the campaign with regular minutes.

Before his rise at Budućnost, he came through at Rudar Pljevlja, steadily building his skillset in Montenegro’s domestic game. His progress has been closely followed over recent months,  and Lens have now moved decisively to secure his future.

For Bulatović, this is the kind of move young players dream about, a chance to test himself beyond home soil and take the next step in his career.

For Lens, it’s a show of faith in a teenager they believe can grow into something special once he’s ready to make the jump.
