Leeds United Exploring Move for Wolves Forward Jorgen Strand Larsen

Leeds United have reportedly enquired about the possibility of signing Norwegian striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers this winter.

The Whites have so far done fairly well for themselves since returning to the Premier League this season. A record of five wins, seven draws and nine losses places them 16th on the league standings with eight points between them and the relegation zone.

Despite their current position in the league though, Leeds United are well aware of the need to bolster their ranks with capable reinforcements that can contribute significantly in their push for Premier League survival.

According to transfer expert David Ornstein via The Athletic, Leeds have landed their search light on Strand Larsen, who they consider to be the ideal profile to add some much-needed quality to their attack and provide competition for the likes of Noah Okafor, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Mmecha.

The Whites are yet to lodge an official bid but it is understood that Wolves will be open to sanctioning a sale this January. Their asking price could however lead to potential complications as Leeds United are wary of breaching the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

Another potential source of complication for Leeds is the number of rival suitors on queue for the signature of the Norwegian striker.

Strand Larsen was close to joining Newcastle over the summer with the Magpies seeing offers worth £50 million and £55 million both rejected as Wolves stood their ground on a £60 million valuation.

The striker’s stocks have not been hurt in the least by Wolves’ abysmal season as he continues to turn the heads of several Premier League clubs.

Newcastle United have maintained their interest from the summer while the likes of Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and West Ham are also keen on a deal.
