Italian club Juventus are weighing up a move for former Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri as per reports, as they look for alternatives in their search for a new striker, with a deal for Jean-Philippe Mateta proving difficult.
The Old Lady saw a bid for the Frenchman turned down by Crystal Palace last week and are reluctant to pay the €40 million demanded by the English club, given the striker’s age and contract situation. Bianconeri had hoped to sign the striker on loan with an obligation to buy next summer and while Mateta was open to a move, negotiations have stalled over differences in valuation.
Juventus are in the transfer market as they look to strengthen upfront due to the uncertainty surrounding the future of Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is likely to leave the club when his contract expires in the summer. Summer signing Jonathan David has struggled for form and consistency since arriving at the Italian club and cannot be relied upon as the club’s only senior striker.
En-Nesyri, who featured for Morocco at the recently concluded 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament, is a cheaper alternative and has plenty of top-level experience, having enjoyed a successful spell at Spanish club Sevilla, where he won two Europa League titles before moving to Fenerbahce. He has scored eight times in 25 appearances across all competitions this season, but is open to an exit from Turkey this month.
The 28-year-old already turned down interest from English clubs Everton and Nottingham Forest, while Napoli are also monitoring his situation. With regular playing time and the preference to play at a club competing at the highest level, Juventus are the most likely destination for the Moroccan striker.
