Juventus are reportedly considering a move for Manuel Ugarte ahead of the summer transfer window, with the midfielder’s future at Manchester United looking very uncertain.
The Uruguayan midfielder joined the Red Devils from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024 and initially played an important role for the club, helping them reach the final of the Europa League in 2025.
However, things have changed since then, and he has struggled for regular game time this season after falling out of favour, and a summer exit now looks like a real possibility.
Ugarte has also found opportunities harder to come by since the arrival of interim head coach Michael Carrick in January.
Kobbie Mainoo has been preferred alongside Casemiro in the midfield position, limiting him to just a few substitute appearances.
With the three-time European champions planning a midfield overhaul this summer, especially with Casemiro expected to move on at the end of the season, Ugarte’s long-term future at the club looks very uncertain.
Recent reports suggest that Juventus are closely monitoring the situation and will send scouts to watch him in action for Uruguay when they take on Algeria in a friendly match on Tuesday.
The Bianconeri are also preparing for a rebuild of their own in the summer as they hope to strengthen their squad and return to competing for major honours domestically and also in Europe.
The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder is seen as an ideal option to strengthen their midfield, and Manchester United would be willing to listen to offers, as selling the 24-year-old could help fund moves for their own transfer targets.
Ugarte is also open to a move away from England, and Juventus could provide an ideal destination, giving him the chance to rediscover his form and enjoy more regular playing time.
