Joselu is set to become a free agent this summer after his contract with Qatari side Al-Gharafa expires at the end of the season, with a return to Europe on the table for the 35-year-old Spanish striker.
The Stuttgart-born forward joined Al-Gharafa in July 2024 after leaving Real Madrid, where he had written one of the more remarkable chapters of his career.
His late brace against Bayern Munich in May 2024 was the moment that sent Madrid to the Champions League final at Wembley, where they went on to win their record-extending 15th European title.
That he followed it by heading to Qatar rather than staying raised eyebrows at the time, but the financial logic was hard to argue against.
Now, per transfer expert Matteo Moretto, his time in Doha is coming to an end. The Italian journalist reports that clubs are already circling, and that Joselu will take the coming weeks to assess his options and decide where his next chapter begins. A return to Europe is among the possibilities being considered.
He joined Al-Gharafa on a contract running until June 30, 2026, and with that deal not being renewed, he will walk away at no cost to any interested club.
For a striker who has shown he can deliver at the highest level, that kind of availability tends to attract attention quickly.
Joselu will be 36 by the time he signs elsewhere, but age has rarely looked less relevant given what he produced at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The next few weeks should reveal whether his next stop is Europe or another stint outside the continent.
