Inter Milan reignite interest in Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones

Inter Milan have revived their interest in Curtis Jones ahead of the summer transfer window, amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Liverpool.

The England international is set to enter the final year of his contract at the end of the season and the Premier League champions would be willing to listen to offers if he decides against renewing his deal.

Jones has struggled for regular game time this season, largely due to the intense competition for spots in Liverpool’s midfield and has made just 11 Premier League starts, two of which have come in the club’s last seven league matches.

According to reports, Inter Milan have emerged as a serious contender to sign the 25-year-old. The three-time European champions are long-term admirers and are keen to strengthen their team in the summer with the addition of the English midfielder, especially with the potential departure of Davide Frattesi.

The Nerazzurri previously approached Liverpool during the winter transfer window with a loan proposal that included an option to buy, but that offer was rejected, and they are now expected to return with an improved bid once the summer transfer window opens.

However, they are likely to face competition from Newcastle United for the signature of the 25-year-old.

As we earlier reported, the Magpies are closely monitoring Jones’ situation and have identified him as a suitable replacement for Sandro Tonali, who could leave the club at the end of the season.

Should Jones decide to leave Liverpool in the summer, he is unlikely to be short of suitors. A move to Inter Milan would be appealing, as he would continue to play in the UEFA Champions League and also help the club in their bid to compete for major honours.
