Everton Explores Deal to Sign Striker Youssef En-Nesyri

Youssef En-Nesyri to everton

Everton are looking to improve their attack this January and are now reportedly in talks to sign striker Youssef En-Nesyri, after holding concrete talks with Turkish side Fenerbahçe.

The 28-year-old Morocco international, currently on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, has scored seven goals across 15 Süper Lig games for Fenerbahçe this season, playing 948 minutes from a possible 1350.

The former Sevilla player also scored 30 goals last season under José Mourinho and is a two-time Europa League winner, Everton would hope they could bring him to Merseyside after AFCON to strengthen their frontline, as current forwards Beto and Thierno Barry have only managed just 5 goals between them this season.

According to the reports, Fenerbahçe are also open to talks regarding either a loan move or a permanent departure, with En-Nesyri under contract till 2029.

A potential stumbling block for Everton could be that the player doesn’t like cold climates, and so might be unwilling to make the move, and that’s according to Turkish journalist Sercan Hamzaoğlu, who also reported that Everton are not the only English side inquiring about the striker with Nottingham Forest’s also interested in the Moroccan forward, who made a name for himself at Sevilla with 73 goals in 196 games before switching to Fenerbahçe.

En-Nesyri joined Fenerbahçe on 24 July 2024, signing a five-year contract for €19.5 million, which made him the most expensive player in the club’s history and broke the transfer record in Süper Lig, if he joins Everton he would be valued at €22 million.
