Endrick’s agent, Tiago Freitas, has revealed that the young Brazilian forward remains a Real Madrid player and will return to the Santiago Bernabeu when his loan spell at Olympique Lyon comes to an end this summer.
The 19-year-old forward has enjoyed scintillating form since swapping La Liga for the French Ligue 1 temporarily. In six outings across Ligue 1 and Coupe de France, Endrick has produced seven goal contributions (5 goals and 2 assists).
That impressive immediate impact has given way to rampant speculations, suggesting that Olympique Lyon are interested in extending the Brazil international’s stay at the Groupama Stadium.
However, Freitas recently moved to pour cold water on the growing speculations, insisting that Endrick will definitely return to Real Madrid at the expiration of his six-month loan spell with the Ligue 1 outfit.
“Endrick will return to Real Madrid at the end of the season. He’s on loan [at Lyon], and at the end of the season, Endrick will once again be a Real Madrid player,” he told Marca.
Endrick arrived at Real Madrid from South American outfit Palmeiras in the summer of 2024 to much fanfare, but the Brazilian youngster’s time at the Santiago Bernabeu has not exactly gone according to plan.
Last season, he racked up 37 appearances across all competitions for Real Madrid and scored seven goals. But with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Goes, and Jude Bellingham starring in attacking roles for Los Blancos, he mainly featured off the substitute’s bench.
The Brazilian international’s involvement at the Spanish capital further diminished under the reign of erstwhile manager Xabi Alonso this season, with only three outings for Real Madrid before his winter move to France.
Endrick’s hopes of featuring in Brazil’s World Cup squad this summer is riding on these final months of the season, and so far, the young striker is making a strong case to Selecao head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
