Eduardo Camavinga is reportedly considering a potential departure from Real Madrid this summer amid growing interest in his services from clubs in the English Premier League and French Ligue 1.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who arrived at the Spanish capital as one of Europe’s most sought-after talents in 2021, has struggled to fully establish himself in Madrid’s star-studded midfield.
Despite making 34 appearances across all competitions this season, only 19 of those have come as starts, highlighting a lack of consistent involvement in a Real Madrid side struggling to dislodge Barcelona from the summit of La Liga.
Camavinga’s versatility has seen him deployed in multiple roles, including left-back and even advanced positions, but that flexibility appears to be one of the major reasons for his current lack of a defined role within the squad.
While he is valued by the coaching staff at Real Madrid as a dependable option across the pitch, reports from Spanish publication AS indicate that the Frenchman is growing increasingly dissatisfied with the lack of opportunities to operate in his preferred role as a central playmaker.
With Los Blancos reportedly keen on recruiting a new midfield orchestrator in the mould of club legends Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, Camavinga’s pathway to that position has been thrown into further doubt.
That uncertainty has now attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, while several Premier League clubs, including the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United, are also said to be monitoring his situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
Despite the growing speculation, Madrid remains in firm control of the situation with Camavinga being under contract until the summer of 2029.
The Spanish giants will be under no pressure to cut ties with the Frenchman, and can demand a significant amount in transfer fees even if they decide to consider a sale.
