Chelsea are reportedly considering a managerial shake-up ahead of the summer, with Cesc Fabregas emerging as a potential replacement for Liam Rosenior.
The Blues have endured a difficult spell in recent weeks, suffering four consecutive defeats across all competitions, including a heavy Champions League exit at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16.
While Rosenior has steadied the ship since taking over from Enzo Maresca earlier this year, uncertainty remains over Chelsea’s chances of securing a return to Europe’s elite competition next season.
According to Caught Offside, the club are already exploring contingency plans, with Fabregas, currently impressing as head coach of Como, high on their shortlist.
The former Chelsea midfielder, who enjoyed immense success during his playing days at Stamford Bridge, has quickly built a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising young managers.
His tactical approach, centred around high pressing, quick passing, and positional fluidity, has drawn comparisons to styles employed by Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger.
Chelsea, however, are not alone in their admiration. Manchester City are also said to be monitoring Fabregas’ progress, with Guardiola’s long-term future at the Etihad Stadium yet to be fully clarified.
Despite the speculation, Rosenior is expected to remain in charge until the end of the season. But with Chelsea’s form faltering and their Champions League hopes hanging in the balance, the coming months could prove decisive in shaping the club’s managerial direction.
