German champions Bayern Munich have joined the growing list of clubs interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliott Anderson in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has developed into one of the most in-demand midfielders in the Premier League since joining Forest from his boyhood club Newcastle United in 2024 and is expected to leave the City Ground at the end of the season.

According to reports, Bayern Munich have now become the latest club to be linked to the England international ahead of a busy summer transfer window.

The six-time European champions are preparing for the departure of German international Leon Goretzka, who is set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Bavarians view Anderson as an identical replacement in midfield and are impressed by his versatility, given his ability to play in both the central midfield role and in a more defensive position.

However, they are expected to face stiff competition for the signature of the 23-year-old, with Premier League heavyweights Manchester City and Manchester United also considering a summer move.

The Cityzens are the closest to agreeing a deal with the England international, while the Red Devils have also shown strong intentions as they prepare for a major squad rebuild in the summer.

Nottingham Forest are likely to demand a fee in the region of about £100 million for Anderson, although that figure could drop if the club suffers relegation from the Premier League.

If that happens, Bayern Munich would have a good chance of landing the highly-rated midfielder, who could be tempted by the opportunity of playing in one of the biggest clubs in the world and also linking up with countryman Harry Kane.
