Aston Villa are tracking Harry Wilson and could sign the Fulham winger on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer.
The 28-year-old has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season. He has eight goals in 25 appearances, with many of them spectacular late winners.
His contract at Fulham runs out in June, and there has been no breakthrough on a new deal.
Aston Villa’s manager, Unai Emery, wanted the Wales International in January but prioritised a striker and signed Tammy Abraham from Besiktas instead.
The Telegraph reports that Villa are still looking for a right winger, which is where Wilson has done most of his work this season. After being promoted from the Championship with Fulham in 2022, this has been his most productive campaign back in the top flight.
Everton are also understood to be interested as they look at their attacking options, though Fulham could still convince Wilson to stay for a sixth season at the club.
Wilson joined Fulham from Liverpool in 2021 for £12 million and has been a key player ever since. He scored 11 goals and provided 20 assists in the Championship title-winning season, and was named in both the PFA and EFL Teams of the Season. His form this year has been even better.
Seeing how impressive he has been this season, he will have many options come summer. Aston Villa will need to move quickly if they want to beat the competition.
