Arda Guler To Arsenal? Premier League Giants Plotting Heist for Real Madrid Star

Arda Guler to arsenal

Turkish midfielder Arda Guler could leave Real Madrid in the coming months as his future now hangs in the balance, following the club’s appointment of Alvaro Arbeloa as coach.

Guler has had an unstable stay at Real Madrid since his €26 million transfer from Fenerbahce in July 2023. In his first two campaigns, his game time was badly limited under then-coach Carlo Ancelotti. He was often benched for other players like Jude Bellingham or Fede Valverde.

However, after the appointment of coach Xabi Alonso, Guler started getting more minutes and more responsibilities. He featured prominently for Los Blancos in the FIFA Club World Cup last summer. So it was clear that he would be a key man for the Spanish tactician coming into the new campaign.

In the Laliga, the 20-year-old has started 15 games this season, the highest since he joined the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners. He has also started five of Real Madrid’s six UCL games.

But on Monday, the club announced the sacking of Alonso after almost eight months on the job. And that decision put Guler’s place on the team in doubt. There is a possibility that with the appointment of Arbeloa, Guler could return to being a bench warmer. If that happens, the former Fenerbahce man would definitely become unhappy.

Now, according to Transfer News Live, Arsenal are looking to capitalize on that. The Gunners are considering a move for the 20-year-old midfielder if they believe he is unhappy with his role at Real Madrid.

Guler is currently valued at €90 million by Transfermarkt, and Real Madrid could even demand way higher than that to sanction a deal. They also have the upper hand in any negotiations because the Turkish player still has three years left on his contract.

Signing Guler would be a major coup for the Gunners if they manage to pull the deal off. However, it is unlikely that anything will happen this month. Any conversation about a possible transfer will likely be in the summer.
