AC Milan are weighing up the possibility of signing Italy and Fiorentina striker Moise Kean when the summer transfer window reopens in a few months.
The Rossoneri have turned their attention to Kean after efforts to bring in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta during the January transfer window proved abortive, with the Frenchman failing his medical tests.
According to Milan News 24, AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri now wants a reunion with Kean, who has been one of Fiorentina’s better players in a difficult season and believes him to be an ideal candidate to fit perfectly into the Rossoneri’s front line.
Allegri is quite familiar with the qualities of Moise Kean, with the pair having spent time together at Juventus, where the striker came through the youth ranks before earning his professional debut in the 2016/2017 season.
With far more experience under his belt now, following stints in the Premier League and Ligue 1, Kean has developed into a physically strong striker who has a knack for attacking the spaces in behind. Allegri’s prior working relationship with the striker also means he may not need a lot of time to adapt.
Kean has a €62 million release clause in his current contract, but AC Milan intends to open direct negotiations with Fiorentina in the event that they decide to launch an official bid for the 25-year-old striker.
Fiorentina currently sit 18th on the Serie A standings, and relegation to Serie B or failure to secure European football of any kind ahead of next season will certainly weaken their position during negotiations if the Rossoneri make their move.
