Manchester United are reportedly stepping up their interest in Inter Milan star Federico Dimarco as the club continues to assess options to strengthen the left side of their defence ahead of the summer transfer window.

United are expected to target a natural left-back in the coming months as they reshape their squad, particularly with Patrick Dorgu increasingly viewed as an attacking option further up the pitch.

The Danish international has impressed when deployed in a more advanced role, which has only strengthened the belief that the Red Devils may need another specialist defender to occupy the left-back position.

According to reports from Football Transfers, Dimarco has now emerged as one of the players firmly on the club’s radar.

The Inter Milan defender has been admired by United for some time, and recent scouting missions suggest their interest remains strong.

As part of their broader recruitment strategy, United’s hierarchy reportedly sent scouts to monitor the Italy international during Inter’s recent clash with Juventus.

His performance during that match is believed to have further reinforced the club’s view that he could be a valuable addition to their squad.

Despite being under contract with Inter until 2027, Dimarco’s long-term future at the San Siro has yet to be fully resolved.

Talks over a potential contract extension have not produced a breakthrough so far, which has encouraged several clubs to keep a close watch on his situation.

United are understood to believe a deal for the 28-year-old is doable if negotiations with Inter were to begin.

Reports suggest the Premier League side could open discussions with an offer in the region of €45 million, although they may be prepared to increase their bid to around €60m if required.

Widely reputed for his precise crossing and ability to create chances from deep areas, Dimarco could provide the kind of balance and creativity that United have mostly missed from the left flank this season.
