Liverpool are considering making a move for Italian defender Federico Dimarco when the summer transfer window opens, as they look to strengthen their options at left-back.
The Premier League champions are resigned to losing both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas at the end of the season, creating the need for a quality replacement.
Robertson’s contract expires this summer, and with no extension agreed yet, the Scotland international appears increasingly likely to leave Anfield after nine years at the club.
The 31-year-old attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur during the winter transfer window as per earlier reports, but the Reds were reluctant to sanction a move without securing a suitable replacement.
Meanwhile, Tsimikas could also leave permanently after struggling to cement a place in the starting lineup since joining the club in 2020 and is currently on loan at Italian club AS Roma.
According to reports from TeamTalk, Liverpool are now prepared to step up their pursuit of Dimarco, viewing the player as a quality addition that will strengthen their squad as they look to challenge for major trophies next season.
The Inter Milan defender is regarded as one of the best in his role and could provide a major boost, especially given the inconsistency of first-choice left-back Milos Kerkez during the campaign.
Completing the deal may prove difficult given Inter’s reluctance to sell one of their key players.
However, with Dimarco’s contract expiring in 2027, the Italian side could be forced into a sale with a strong offer to avoid losing him for free next summer.
