Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha reveals stance on Real Madrid move

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid in the summer, insisting that he remains fully committed to the French champions.

The Portuguese international joined PSG from Porto in 2022 for around €41.5 million and has grown into one of the most influential midfielders in world football.

The 26-year-old was a key figure in the French club’s historic 2024-25 campaign, helping the club secure a remarkable sextuple that included their first-ever UEFA Champions League title and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

On the international stage, he played a major role as Portugal defeated Spain on penalties in the 2025 UEFA Nations League final to win their second title.

Vitinha’s outstanding form also brought several individual honours as he finished third in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings behind club teammate Ousmane Dembele and Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal.

He also picked up the 2025 IFFHS World’s Best Playmaker and was named midfielder of the year at the Globe Soccer Awards.

Real Madrid had identified Vitinha as a possible midfield reinforcement ahead of a major squad rebuild this summer.

The Spanish giants are still searching for long-term replacements, following the departures of legendary midfielders Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

However, speaking in comments shared by Fotmob, Vitinha made it clear he had no intentions of leaving the French champions.

“It would be silly to leave”, Vitinha revealed.

“I don’t think it’s the best thing for me. I feel very good here at PSG. I feel that people appreciate me a lot, and I feel that I have earned that affection. I love being here, and so does my family. We have a fantastic group and an incredible coach”, the midfielder added.

With the Portuguese off their shortlist, Real Madrid are expected to turn their attention to other midfield options, including Manchester City midfielder Rodri and Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali.

For now, Vitinha’s focus will be on helping PSG finish the season strongly as they aim to replicate last year’s success, while also remaining fit ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup in the summer.
