Al-Hilal are dealing with a growing injury list ahead of their upcoming Saudi Pro League fixtures after the club released a medical update covering several first-team players following the draw with Al-Taawoun.
Karim Benzema is among those sidelined, with examinations confirming the French forward will undergo a treatment and rehabilitation programme expected to keep him out for around 10 to 15 days due to a muscle injury, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The striker had recently returned to action but will now miss the immediate run of matches as the medical staff manage his recovery carefully.
Midfielder Nasser Al- Dawsari is facing a longer spell on the sidelines as tests showed the Saudi international sustained an injury that will need between three and four weeks of rehabilitation, ruling him out for a long stretch of fixtures.
Defender Hassan Al-Tambakti has also been forced onto the treatment table after suffering a minor hamstring problem during the recent meeting with Al-Taawoun. The injury will keep him out of the upcoming clash against Al-Shabab.
There was slightly better news elsewhere in the squad, where young Forward Mohamed Qader Mete has returned to group training after overcoming earlier muscle discomfort, while Turkish defender Yusuf Akçeşek continues individual rehabilitation work due to lower abdominal pain.
Goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Rubaie has meanwhile resumed gym-based fitness training following a finger injury.
Uncertainty remains around right-back Hamad Al-Yami, who has undergone further medical assessment on a knee issue picked up in the same Al-Taawoun match, with a final decision yet to be made on whether surgery will be required.
With multiple absences affecting both defence and midfield, Al-Hilal’s coaching staff now face a herculean task with selection adjustments as the League schedule begins to tighten in the coming weeks.
