Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed he is preparing to commit his long-term future to Brazil, revealing he expects to sign a new four-year contract with the national team.

Speaking to Movistar, the Italian manager said he believes the agreement will soon be finalised, extending his tenure with the five-time world champions through to 2030. The deal would see him lead Brazil into both the 2026 and 2030 World Cups.

“It’s a new job…and I’m really impressed by it,” Ancelotti said, reflecting on his experiences so far.

The 66-year-old only recently took charge of the Seleção, stepping into international management after decades at the helm of top European clubs.

His appointment was seen as a groundbreaking move by the Brazilian Football Confederation, bringing one of the most decorated managers in modern history into the international arena.

If the agreement is finalised as expected, Ancelotti will remain in charge for the next two World Cup cycles, taking Brazil into 2026 and then 2030.

That kind of long-term commitment is rare in international football and brings a sense of calm around a national team that has often been unstable in recent years.

Those close to the federation have been pleased with the early signs under the Italian, not just in results but in the atmosphere around the squad.

Ancelotti, for his part, has spoken candidly about how different the job feels compared to club management and how much he has enjoyed stepping into an entirely different role.

Both parties are understood to be satisfied with the arrangement, and it now appears to be a matter of time before the renewal is formalised
