Valencia CF are exploring a move for Renzo Saravia as they scramble to cover a long-term injury to right-back Foulquier.
The 32-year-old Argentine, currently a free agent, has emerged as a preferred option for the Mestella club due to his experience and technical reliability.
Head coach Carlos Corberán has confirmed that Valencia are actively searching the free agent market to strengthen the squad, with Saravia standing out as a specialist capable of handling the intensity and requirements of the Spanish competition in its final stretch.
Negotiations, however, have encountered hurdles as Valencia are offering a short-term deal until June 30, in line with league regulations allowing clubs to sign replacements for players sidelined long-term.
Saravia, on the other hand, reportedly wants a more stable arrangement with a contract that runs for at least 18 months.
Thanks to the stellar performances of Thierry and Unai Núñez, who have been covering at right-back, the club has had some breathing space.
As stated by Article 107 of LaLiga’s regulations, Valencia have 20 working days from Foulquier’s operation to register a replacement, and the club is aware that any delay could limit their options. Sources also suggest both parties are motivated to find a resolution.
The final outcome of this deal will likely hinge on whether Saravia chooses sporting reasons for his decisions rather than more lucrative opportunities elsewhere, and would provide the team with experience and technical security that’s much needed to compete effectively in the closing stages of the season
