Nottingham Forest part ways with Sean Dyche

Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Sean Dyche after just 114 days in charge, following Wednesday night’s goalless draw with Wolves in the Premier League.

According to Sky Sports, the decision was made exactly three hours after the match, in which Forest managed 35 shots but failed to score.

It leaves them with just two wins from their last 10 league matches and 17th on the standings, three points above the drop zone.

Dyche signed a contract until 2027 when he was appointed in October 2025, and despite his short tenure, he leaves with the best win percentage of any permanent manager under owner Evangelos Marinakis at 47.1 per cent.

The former Burnley and Everton manager oversaw 25 matches across all competitions, with 18 of them in the Premier League, where he managed six wins, four draws and eight defeats.

The 54-year-old becomes Nottingham Forest’s third managerial dismissal of the season. Nuno Espirito Santo, who guided the club to a historic European finish last season, was let go earlier in the campaign after a public fallout with the club’s hierarchy.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou followed, but lasted only 39 days in the role after failing to win any of his eight matches in charge, losing six of them.

Dyche also guided the Tricky Trees to a 13th-place finish in the Europa League, collecting four wins, two draws and two defeats from eight matches, with a clash against Turkish giants Fenerbahce to come in the knockout phase next week.

Meanwhile, the Athletic reports that former Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has emerged as a strong option to replace Dyche at Forest, with a final decision on the club’s next permanent manager expected in the coming days.
