West Ham to rival Fulham for Samuel Chukwueze’s signature

West Ham United have joined the race for Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old attacker is currently on loan at Fulham from AC Milan, but his future in Italy appears increasingly uncertain.

According to Fichajes, West Ham and Crystal Palace have both made enquiries about the Nigerian international, with Milan said to be open to a permanent sale for a fee in the region of €30 million.

Chukwueze has shown flashes of his quality during his stint at Craven Cottage, doing enough to remind Premier League watchers of the explosive talent that once made him one of La Liga’s most feared wingers at Villarreal.

While his time at Milan did not fully take off as expected, the move back to England has offered him a platform to rebuild momentum.

For West Ham, however, any realistic pursuit may depend on their top-flight status. The Hammers are currently languishing in 18th place, enduring a turbulent campaign that has left them fighting for survival. Nuno Espirito Santo, who replaced Graham Potter, has struggled to steady the ship, and relegation would significantly dent their hopes of landing a player of Chukwueze’s profile.

There is a sense that the Nigerian could have added much-needed directness and creativity to West Ham’s attack next season, but if the London club fail to beat the drop, convincing him to join could prove difficult.

Crystal Palace are also monitoring the situation closely. The Eagles are bracing for major changes, with Oliver Glasner and Daichi Kamada confirming their departure and uncertainty surrounding key figures in the squad.
