Tottenham Hotspur injury news – Frank provides update on Spence, Udogie and others ahead of crucial Newcastle clash

Destiny Udogie Tottenham Hotspur injury

Thomas Frank has delivered the latest Tottenham Hotspur injury update ahead of their midweek Premier League clash against Newcastle United.

The 2025 Europa League winners will be looking to put their poor league form behind them when they host the Magpies on Tuesday night, but they remain without several key players.

Defenders Destiny Udogie and Kevin Danso are both ruled out of the encounter, while Sweden international Dejan Kulusevski remains sidelined for the long term.

Udogie was forced off early in the second half of last weekend’s loss to Manchester United after suffering a recurrence of the hamstring injury that forced him to miss several matches earlier in the season.

Danso, meanwhile, picked up a toe injury during Spurs’ 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League last month and has not featured since then, with a full recovery still weeks away.

Kulusevski’s situation remains complicated, with the winger yet to feature at all this season as he continues his recovery from surgery on his patella in the latter stages of the previous campaign.

Tottenham have been rocked by an injury crisis throughout the season and are also without Ben Davies, James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall, Mohammed Kudus, Richarlison, Rodrigo Bentacur and Pedro Porro, all of whom are dealing with separate injury worries.

However, there is some positive news for Spurs as Spence is confirmed fit for Tuesday’s clash after recovering from a calf injury. The defender was not risked for last weekend’s defeat to Manchester United, but will be involved this time around.

“Unfortunately, Destiny has a hamstring injury; he will be out for 4-5 weeks. Djed Spence is back”, Frank confirmed during Monday’s pre-match press conference, according to Football London.

“ Kevin Danso will be weeks. Kevin [Danso] is with a medical consultant. It is going forward, but still weeks before he is available. Deki has got another appointment at the end of this week where we’ll know more, but of course, out of Champions League, it’s a sign it’s not tomorrow.”

Tottenham have won just one of their last 10 Premier League matches and are also winless in their last five meetings with Newcastle. Anything other than a victory on Tuesday night could signal the end for Frank, who is currently under intense pressure at the club.
