Former Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran is set to join Russian side Zenit St Petersburg on loan in what would be his sixth club at the age of 22.
The Colombian international cancelled his loan spell with Turkish giants Fenerbahce and has now completed his move to Russia.
It completes a turbulent 12 months for Duran, who left Villa in January 2025, making a £71m move to Al-Nassr, where he played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
The transfer came at a time when the Saudi Pro League was investing heavily in elite European talent. While Duran posted a respectable return in Saudi Arabia, reports suggested he struggled to settle in the country and was living in Bahrain instead.
After just six months, during which he scored eight goals in 13 appearances as Al-Nassr finished third in the league, he was loaned out to Fenerbahce last summer.
Duran made only 10 league appearances for the Turkish side, though he did play a role in their Turkish Super Cup triumph last month, defeating rivals Galatasaray in the final.
The striker began his professional career at Envigado in Colombia before moving to MLS side Chicago Fire at the age of 18. After one season in the United States, he joined Aston Villa in January 2023 for around £14 million.
A move to Zenit, who currently sit second in the Russian Super League, would represent another fresh start for Duran, although it comes at a time when Russian clubs remain banned from European competition.
