West Ham United have reached a verbal agreement with Fulham to sign winger Adama Traore, according to Fabrizio Romano, with the deal now entering its final formal stages.
Documents are set to be exchanged between the clubs, while medical tests are expected to follow shortly. Romano confirmed the development with his trademark ‘here we go,’ signaling that all major components of the deal are in place.
The move makes up part of a wider squad reshuffle at the London Stadium, with midfielder Guido Rodriguez set to leave West Ham to join Valencia, and Traore expected to arrive to bolster attacking options.
Traore has found minutes hard to come by at Fulham this season, making 15 league appearances, 14 of which came from the bench. The switch offers the 30-year-old a chance to regain prominence at Premier League level.
Traore brings a lot of pace and directness from the wide areas. His ability to stretch defences and create one-on-one situations with his marauding runs adds a different dimension to an attack that has often lacked penetration.
The Spain international boasts extensive top-flight experience, having made over 260 Premier League appearances across spells with Wolves, Fulham, and Aston Villa, alongside a brief stint with Spanish giants, Barcelona. Across those appearances, he has contributed 14 goals and 27 assists.
With the verbal agreement sealed and signed with only formalities remaining, West Ham are keen to complete the signing once paperwork and medical checks are concluded.
