Fenerbahçe have stepped up their search for a goalscorer ahead of the next phase of their season, with the Turkish giants tracking the situation of Omar Marmoush at Manchester City.
The Egyptian international joined Manchester City from Frankfurt on a long‑term deal believed to be worth around £59 million, after an impressive run in the Bundesliga. City moved to secure his signature during the winter window as they sought additional attacking depth for the second half of the campaign.
The Yellow Canaries have made the addition of a forward a priority, following internal assessments of their attacking output across domestic and European competitions. A report from Turkish outlet Fotomac indicates club officials are monitoring several options across Europe, with Marmoush identified as a player whose profile fits their current needs.
Since arriving in England, minutes have been hard to come by. Pep Guardiola has numerous attacking options, including the recent addition of Antoine Semenyo, across a packed schedule. Marmoush has played across league and cup games but he is still not a regular starter, which has caught the eye of clubs watching his situation.
With the Süper Lig title race on and European ambitions still alive, recruitment staff at the Istanbul club have focused on forwards like Marmoush that offer pace, direct running and end product in the final third.
The 26-year-old recently returned from international duty with Egypt following the Africa Cup of Nations, where he featured during the latter stages of the tournament. His absence during that period further limited his minutes at City, adding to speculation around his role in the squad.
Any potential move would depend on City’s stance and Marmoush’s willingness to consider a switch, with the player still keen to secure consistent playing time as he approaches the peak years of his career.
