Andoni Iraola Provides Updates on Bournemouth Pair’s Availability Ahead of Brighton Visit

Andoni Iraola provides bournemouth injury news

Andoni Iraola has confirmed that David Brooks and Ryan Christie are doubts for Monday night’s English Premier League match against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Cherries welcome the Seagulls to the Vitality Stadium, looking to recover from their recent FA Cup third round exit to Newcastle United on penalties.

Brooks and Christie in contention for Bournemouth vs Brighton clash

Bournemouth host Brighton in the final match of the 2025-26 EPL gameweek 22, hoping for a positive outcome to continue their rise up the standings.

However, they could be without two of their key players for the clash with doubts over their availability due to injury concerns.

Brooks, who scored the third goal of the match in the FA Cup defeat to Newcastle last weekend to put the Cherries 2-1 ahead, was forced off in the 71st minute after appearing to have twisted his ankle.

Bournemouth eventually lost that encounter on penalties, suffering an early exit from the tournament.

The Welsh forward has missed only two league games this season, but his fitness is a major concern ahead of the visit of the Seagulls.

“Brooksie [David Brooks] twisted his ankle, and it is an ankle that has given him problems previously, even before we were here. He is the one who finished worse from the Newcastle game”, Iraola said in his press conference.

Christie, meanwhile, has missed Bournemouth’s last four matches with a knee problem and could make a return to the team ahead of the clash after returning to training earlier in the week.

The 30-year-old has featured 11 times in the league this season, although he has only started once.

“The only other one who can’t recover is Ryan [Christie]. He is training in a better level than previously, but it’s still early, and this is more or less the situation”, the Bournemouth manager added.

Bournemouth have won only one of their last 13 matches across all competitions, following a run of five wins in their previous 10 matches.

The Cherries occupy the 15th position on the league standings with 26 points from their first 21 league matches and a win could lift them up the standings.
