Former Arsenal midfielder has announced his retirement from active professional football, drawing the curtains on a playing career that spanned almost 20 years, per the latest reports from ESPN.
Ramsey is widely known for his time in North London, where he spent more than a decade with the Gunners, racked up over 350 appearances across all competitions and registered over a hundred goals and assists.
Following his time at Arsenal, the former Wales international enjoyed subsequent stints at Juventus, Nice, Cardiff and Rangers and has been without a club since leaving the Mexican side Pumas at the end of last year.
Ramsey is also a legend of Welsh football, having played a significant role in putting his nation on the map while also helping the national team to reach three major tournaments, including the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 35-year-old midfielder debuted for The Dragons in 2008 and, since then, made 86 appearances while also scoring 21 goals.
While Ramsey was unable to record any major successes with the Welsh national team, he enjoyed the pleasure of lifting trophies with some of the clubs he turned out for.
At Arsenal, he won three Emirates FA Cup titles as well as three Community Shields. During his time with Juventus, he helped the Old Lady to the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana titles. A half-season loan stint at Rangers also yielded success in the Scottish Cup.
With his playing career now over, Ramsey is widely expected to transition into coaching, having already gained some experience as interim boss of Cardiff City towards the end of last season.
He has already completed his UEFA A Licence and has expressed clear intentions to begin his Pro Licence soon.
