Italian heavyweights Inter Milan have joined the race to sign Andrey Santos from Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian midfielder joined the West London club in 2023 from Vasco da Gama, but was immediately sent back on loan, before enjoying an impressive spell at French club Strasbourg last season.
Santos returned to Chelsea last summer and has gradually settled into the squad, making 37 appearances across all competitions this season.
Despite his growing involvement, he could consider a move away from the club at the end of the season.
According to reports from Goal, Inter Milan are now seriously considering a summer move for the Brazilian as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
The three-time European champions are keen to build a team that can consistently challenge for trophies for many years both in Italy and across Europe and at just 21, Santos fits that profile of pa layer.
However, the Nerazzurri are not alone in the pursuit of the highly-rated midfielder. As we reported earlier, Manchester United are also weighing up a move ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Premier League side looking to replace Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who is expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season.
A move to Inter could appeal to Santos, offering him more playing opportunities and a chance to compete for trophies, although the Italian club may need to offload some players first to generate the funds required to complete the deal.
