Premier League champions Liverpool are in pole position to sign Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid ahead of the summer transfer window.
The French midfielder originally preferred a move to the record European champions over other interested clubs when he left Rennes in 2021, but he could now be on the move away from the Spanish capital after five years.
The 23-year-old has made over 200 appearances for Real Madrid, featuring in multiple roles across the pitch, but has seen his influence dip in recent times due to limited opportunities in his preferred central midfield role.
According to our previous reports, the Spanish giants no longer consider him untouchable and would be open to a sale if their valuation is met.
As per TeamTalk, Liverpool are now firmly in the race as they look to strengthen their squad, despite investing heavily last summer.
Midfield reinforcements are expected to be a priority, with England international Curtis Jones potentially heading for the exit, while Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is attracting interest from both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
A move for Camavinga would also make sense, given his ability to slot into central midfield, while also offering versatility in other positions on the pitch when needed.
However, the Reds are not alone in the race, as league rivals Chelsea and Manchester United are also monitoring the situation closely.
Camavinga is believed to be open to a move, with the Premier League high on his wishlist. However, Champions League qualification could give Liverpool the edge over their rivals, provided they are willing to meet Real Madrid’s valuation.
